I've been taking Chinese classes at Chinese Surfing for 3 months, and it's easily the best decision I made to learn Mandarin.
First, the teachers are amazing. They explain complex grammar and tricky tones in ***ple ways—never using too much English, which pushes me to think in Chinese. They're also so patient: whenever I mix up words or mispronounce phrases, they repeat and guide me until I get it right, no pressure at all.
The class vibe is another highlight. It's small (only 5-6 students), so everyone gets enough time to practice speaking. We do fun activities too—like role-playing ordering food at a local restaurant or talking about our weekends—which makes learning feel less like studying and more like hanging out with friends.
I also love the flexible schedule. As a part-time worker, I can choose weekend classes, which fits perfectly with my life. And the materials they provide (workbooks, audio clips) are practical—most of what I learn in class, I can use right away when talking to my Chinese neighbors or shopping.
Now, I can have short conversations without panicking, and I even understand simple menus! If you're a foreigner looking to learn real, useful Chinese, Chinese Surfing is totally worth it. Highly recommend!
