Chinese idioms, known as 成语 (Chengyu) are fixed phrases that are mostly composed of 4 Chinese characters. These idioms are an important part of day to day life in China and their meanings are based of the historical texts or stories from which they were created.

Whenever I hear "一见钟情 yí jiàn zhōng qíng" I always think of the scene in 泰坦尼克号 (Titanic) where Jack meets Rose for the first time.
