① 抱一下。Bào yī xià.
Give me a hug.
② 过来我亲一下。
Guò lái wǒ qīn yī xià.
Come here and I will give you a kiss.
02 In a short while; To do sth. for a bit to give it a try.
① 等一下。Děng yī xià.
Wait a moment.
② 休息一下。Xiūxi yī xià.
Take a break.
③ 停一下。Tíng yī xià
Stop for a while.
④ 我介绍一下。Wǒ jièshào yīxià.
I'd like to introduce.
⑤ 请你读一下。Qǐng nǐ dú yīxià.
Please try to read it.
03 All at once; All of a sudden
① 天一下黑了。Tiān yīxià hēi le.
It became dark all of a sudden.
② 最近的天气真奇怪，一下冷一下热。
Zuìjìn de tiānqì zhēn qíguài, yīxià lěng yīxià rè.
The weather recently is really strange, it’s cold one moment and hot the next.
